Worshippers in the Western Wards have asked for donations of unwanted items to sell to raise money for the people of Syria.
Organisations and church-goers aim to raise as much as they can to send to the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC), which co-ordinates aid for all major charities in the UK, including for the three million Syrians who have had to flee their homes because of the continuing conflict.
People in Locks Heath, Park Gate, Sarisbury, Titchfield Common, Warsash and Whiteley should donate unwanted toys, children’s and adult clothing, baubles, bangles, beads and plants to be sold at an event on July 20 at the Community Hall at the Locks Heath Centre.
Goods can be taken to churches – St Mary’s in Warsash, St Margaret Mary in Park Gate, St Paul’s in Sarisbury Green and St John’s in Locks Heath after July 6.
