Saints have smashed their transfer record and signed Italy striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo from Roma for a fee of around £15m.
The 27-year-old forward is understood to have signed a four-year deal at St Mary’s and joins Victor Wanyama who had set the club transfer record earlier in the summer when he signed for £12.5m.
Osvaldo had previously played under Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino at Espanyol in Spain and hit 16 goals in Serie A for Roma last season. He has won nine caps for the Italian national side.
Osvaldo began his professional career with Huracan in Argentina before joining Italian side Atalanta in 2006. He also had spells with Lecce, Fiorentina and Bologna.
