A 23-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after the car he was driving overturned into a field in the early hours of this morning (June 6).
Police are appealing for witnesses after the blue Ford Fiesta crashed off Botley Road, close to Maple Farm, at Curdridge at around 2.40am.
A member of the public spotted the car in he field and called the emergency services.
It is thought the car was travelling south from the direction of Bishops Waltham when, for reasons yet to be established, he lost control of the vehicle.
He was cut from the car by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and taken to Southampton General Hospital where he remains in a critical condition. His family has been informed.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the vehicle just before the incident is asked to contact Whitchurch Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Severn.
